An ongoing project by Liene Bosquê

Essex Market 75th Anniversary Block Party
In collaboration with the 75th Anniversary of Essex Street Market, Artists Alliance Inc and artist Liene Bosquê presented the fourth LES-based City Souvenirs walking tour on Saturday, May 30.
Capturing the physical, cultural and social changes of the neighborhood, Bosquê led participants on a walking tour of the four original Essex Street Market sites, guiding participants through the interior and exterior of the remaining buildings. Together the group shared anecdotes about their past experiences in the neighborhood and made porcelain clay impressions of the textures, patterns and texts on the surrounding structures, contributing to the archive of sites collectively amassed since the beginning of this project in 2009.
Participants met Bosquê at the Artists Alliance vendor cart within the Essex Market Block Party at 1pm or joined her from the street during the walk.
