Part one of the 3-part Workspace ’19 exhibition series, featuring new work by residents of AAI’s LES Studio Program
Cuchifritos Gallery + Project Space is pleased to present Push/Pull, an exhibition of new work by Boohri Park. This is exhibition is part one of the 3-part Workspace ’19 exhibition series, featuring new work by residents of AAI’s LES Studio Program.
Appearing frequently in Boohri Park’s work, doors and windows represent a boundary that both connects and separates. Moving through or crossing this thin passageway becomes an important act of transition; bridging the realm of the interior to the exterior world and a representation of the will to reach out to the other side. Featuring a new body of work, Push/Pull focuses on the simple act of opening and closing, using the door as a space where sculptures and drawings can play with depth, plane, and light.
Push/Pull is supported, in part, by the Arts Council Korea.
Boohri Park is a Korean born artist currently residing and working in Dresden, Germany. Park’s work has previously been exhibited in South Korea and across Europe. This is the artist’s first show in the United States.
