Part one of the 3-part Workspace ’19 exhibition series, featuring new work by residents of AAI’s LES Studio Program
Cuchifritos Gallery + Project Space is pleased to present Push/Pull, an exhibition of new work by LES Studio Program Resident Boohri Park, on view from October 25, 2019 through November 17, 2019. An opening reception will be held in the gallery on October 25 from 6 to 8 pm.
Doors and windows are the elements that often appear in Park’s work. They accentuate the separation between the exterior and the realm of the interior, while also enabling us to overcome that boundary and put two distinct worlds into dialogue with one another. Opening, closing, and moving through passageways is one of the most banal acts of our daily life, however, this simple gesture has a strong significance in our social life, culture, and psyche. Push/Pull focuses on this act of opening and closing, using the door as a space where sculptures and drawings can play with depth, plane, and light.
Push/Pull is supported, in part, by the Arts Council Korea.
Boohri Park is a Korean born artist currently residing and working in Dresden, Germany. Park’s work has previously been exhibited in South Korea and across Europe. This is the artist’s first show in the United States.
